Mission and Vision
Co-founders Shanika and Nikeya crossed paths in 2005 while working in the maternal health sector. Their shared dedication to achieving equitable outcomes for mothers in Omaha gave birth to A Mother’s Love.
Since then, this dynamic duo has been tirelessly engaged in creating and facilitating programs, expanding resources for mothers of all ages, training doulas, and collaborating with local nonprofit organizations, among other endeavors.
When asked about their favorite aspect of their work, both Shanika and Nikeya enthusiastically respond, “the community.” Since its inception, A Mother’s Love has impacted the lives of over 1,500 Omaha families, bringing about positive transformations in their birthing experiences and postpartum journeys.
To sustain a birthing community where mothers can learn, collaborate and have access to the necessary resources to lead vibrant, healthy lives.
